What Is the Following Authority Structure?
The Following Authority Structure (Cong Sha) is one of the Following Structures, classified as a Special Structure (Wai Ge). When the Day Master is extremely weak with no root, and the Seven Killings (Qi Sha — the Five Element that controls the Day Master, of the same Yin-Yang polarity) in the chart are overwhelmingly powerful with no Peer/Rival or Resource/Seal to protect the Day Master, the Day Master is completely subordinate to the Killing star — this is called the Following Authority Structure (sometimes also including Following Officer, collectively called Following Authority/Officer Structure).
Formation Conditions for Following Authority
- Day Master extremely weak: No Peer/Rival with root connection; the Day Master is isolated and unsupported
- Seven Killings/Direct Officer extremely strong: Authority/Killings (Guan Sha) power is overwhelming and irresistible
- No Resource/Seal: No Direct Seal or Indirect Seal to transform the Killings and protect the Day Master
- No Peer/Rival protection: No same-element force to assist the Day Master
Favorable and Unfavorable for Following Authority
The Following Authority Structure submits to Authority/Killings:
- Favorable: Authority/Killings (Seven Killings and Direct Officer — follow the dominant deity), Wealth stars (Wealth generates Killings, strengthening the dominant deity)
- Unfavorable: Resource/Seal (Seal transforms Killings, disrupting the submission relationship), Peer/Rival (supports Day Master to resist Killings — breaks the structure), Output (controls Killings — against the dominant deity)
Personality Traits
Those with the Following Authority Structure typically:
- Submit to discipline and accept authority, suited to development within institutional systems
- Possess courage and can survive under pressure
- Develop smoothly in military/politics, law, and law enforcement
- If the structure is pure, often attain a certain level of social status
Differences from Following Wealth
| Following Wealth | Following Authority | |
|---|---|---|
| Submits to | Wealth stars (what DM controls) | Authority (what controls DM) |
| Favorable gods | Wealth, Officer, Output | Authority, Wealth |
| Unfavorable gods | Peer, Seal | Output, Seal, Peer |
Important Notes
Breaking the Following Authority Structure carries serious consequences — if a luck cycle brings Peer/Rival or Output/Expression, the original submission pattern is shattered, and the resulting back-pressure indicates major misfortune. Following Structure determination must be extremely rigorous.
