What Is the Following Power Structure?
The Following Power Structure (Cong Shi) is one of the Following Structures, classified as a Special Structure (Wai Ge). Unlike the other Following Structures (Following Wealth, Following Authority, Following Output), the Following Power Structure does not submit to a single dominant deity — rather, in the chart, Wealth, Authority, and Output forces are all relatively strong, and the Day Master has no root and no strength, so it can only follow the collective momentum. This is called the Following Power Structure.
Formation Conditions for Following Power
- Day Master extremely weak: No Peer/Rival with root connection, no Resource/Seal generating the Day Master
- Wealth, Authority, and Output all strong: In the chart, Wealth stars, Authority/Killings, and Output all have momentum — no single deity dominates
- No Peer/Rival: No same-element force to assist the Day Master
- No Resource/Seal: No Seal to help the Day Master
Favorable and Unfavorable for Following Power
The Following Power Structure goes with the collective momentum:
- Favorable: Wealth stars, Authority/Killings, Output/Expression (follow the group of dominant deities)
- Unfavorable: Peer/Rival (breaks the structure, triggering internal conflict), Resource/Seal (generates the Day Master, causing it not to follow)
Characteristics of Following Power
The Following Power structure is the most complex of all Following Structures, as there is no single dominant deity but rather a balance of multiple powers. The chart holder's luck cycles must follow the overall directional momentum of the chart — any single deity becoming excessively strong and breaking the balance can also cause problems.
Personality Traits
Those with the Following Power Structure typically:
- Have extremely strong adaptability and are skilled at surviving in complex environments
- Are tactful and diplomatic, able to handle all sides
- Have development opportunities in comprehensive business-political fields
- Adjust direction as the environment changes, exhibiting high flexibility
Important Notes
Determining the Following Power Structure is the most difficult, requiring deep understanding of the overall Four Pillars' Five Elements and chart structure — one should not make hasty determinations. If the chart contains even a weak Peer/Rival or Resource/Seal, the Following Power Structure most likely does not hold.
