Conditions for formation:
- The Day Master is Ren Water or Gui Water
- The chart's Earthly Branches form the Shen-Zi-Chen Three Water Union, or the Hai-Zi-Chou northern Gathering, with extremely strong Water energy
- No Wu or Ji Earth in the Heavenly Stems to control Water (or Earth is present but extremely weak)
- No Chen, Xu, Chou, or Wei Earth in the Branches, or Earth is present but has been transformed through combination
