What Is Imperial Prosperity (Di Wang)?
Imperial Prosperity (Di Wang) is the fifth stage of the Twelve Growth Stages. It is the absolute peak of energy within the entire twelve-stage cycle. Like an emperor ascending the throne and ruling all under heaven, it represents the ultimate state in which the Five Elements' qi is most vigorous, robust, and powerful.
The Imperial Prosperity position is also the location of the "Goat Blade" (Yang Ren). When the Rival (Jie Cai) occupies the Imperial Prosperity position, it is called the Goat Blade, representing an explosive force of extreme strength with a blade's edge — an important concept in structure analysis.

Imperial Prosperity and the Goat Blade
The Imperial Prosperity position is the "extreme peak" position for a given Heavenly Stem. When the Day Master's Rival Star (called Goat Blade for Yang Day Masters, Rival for Yin Day Masters) appears at the Imperial Prosperity position, a Goat Blade structure is formed. This symbolizes a body of extreme strength, suitable for pairing with the Authority/Pressure stars (Guan Sha) to restrain the blade and channel the excess into productive use.

- Maximum strength: When the Day Master occupies Imperial Prosperity, it is extremely strong and requires substantial Wealth, Officer, and Output stars to drain and consume it; otherwise, excessive strength becomes pathological.
- Sharp and decisive: Imperial Prosperity represents intense drive and executive power, but can also tend toward dominance and stubbornness.

Cautions
