What Is Hourly Luck?

Hourly Luck (Liu Shi) is the method of projecting fortune using the current hour's Hour Pillar Stem-Branch -- the finest temporal granularity in the Annual Cycle system. Each hour period spans approximately 2 hours; a day contains 12 such periods, corresponding to the 12 Earthly Branches (Zi hour, Chou hour ... Hai hour). Hourly Luck is used for the most refined timing selection and response timing judgment.

Calculating the Hourly Luck Stem-Branch

The Hour Branch is fixed: Zi (23:00-1:00), Chou (1:00-3:00) ... Hai (21:00-23:00). The Hour Stem is derived from the Day Stem (Five Rat Day-Starting Hour Method):

• In general Destiny Analysis, reaching Monthly Luck is sufficient; Hourly Luck belongs to advanced application.
